EMPLOYMENT MANAGER
Build the Strategy. Own the Results. Raise the Standard.
People Operations | Team JCK
You're not looking for another recruiting job. You're looking for something you can build, lead, and make better.
You see opportunities where others see obstacles. You're comfortable challenging the way things have always been done. And when you see a problem, your instinct isn't to wait for direction, it's to find a solution and make something happen.
Sound familiar? Keep reading.
Team JCK is looking for an Employment Manager who can take ownership of our employment strategy and build a smarter, faster, more effective approach to attracting, selecting, and onboarding great people.
We're a multi-brand restaurant organization with more than 90 restaurants, multiple brands, and ambitious goals. We know that building a high-performing organization starts with getting the right people in the right seats.
We need someone who can build a recruting engine that delivers results.
Your Mission
Build and lead an employment strategy that gives Team JCK a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining talent.
You'll have the opportunity to evaluate what's working, challenge what isn't, and introduce new strategies that improve how we find, select, and welcome employees.
That means balancing big-picture strategy with the ability to make things happen.
You'll partner directly with Operations leadership and corporate departments, influence decisions, establish expectations, and drive improvements across the organization.
We want your ideas. We want your recommendations. And we expect you to take ownership of turning those ideas into measurable results.
What You'll Own
1. Build a Competitive Talent Acquisition Strategy
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies across our restaurant, leadership, and corporate positions.
- Identify untapped talent markets, new recruiting channels, and competitive advantages.
- Build relationships and talent pipelines before positions become urgent.
- Lead targeted searches for key leadership and hard-to-fill positions.
- Challenge ineffective recruiting practices and replace them with better solutions.
2. Strengthen Employment Marketing and Candidate Attraction
- Partner with Marketing and Operations to position Team JCK as an employer of choice.
- Develop creative, differentiated campaigns that generate qualified applicants.
- Turn our Great Place to Work recognition and company culture into a compelling employment brand.
- Experiment, measure results, and scale what works.
3. Raise the Standard for Hiring and Selection
- Influence and coach hiring managers to make stronger, more consistent hiring decisions.
- Integrate Culture Index and structured selection practices into the hiring process.
- Identify gaps in hiring performance and develop practical solutions.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability throughout the hiring process.
4. Build "The JCK Way" of Onboarding
- Lead the development of a consistent, engaging new-hire experience across our brands.
- Partner with Operations, People Business Partners, and corporate subject matter experts to improve the first 90 days of employment.
- Establish clear onboarding expectations, tools, and measures of success.
- Identify and address obstacles that negatively affect early employee retention.
5. Drive Results Through Data and Continuous Improvement
- Own the employment metrics that reveal whether our strategies are working.
- Analyze applicant pipelines, sourcing effectiveness, offer acceptance, and new-hire retention.
- Identify problems early, recommend solutions, and drive corrective action.
- Build scalable systems and processes that support a growing, multi-brand organization.
You'll Thrive Here If...
- You take ownership. When something isn't working, you don't wait for someone else to solve it.
- You're confident and decisive. You're comfortable making recommendations, influencing leaders, and respectfully challenging the status quo.
- You're driven by results. You want to know what success looks like, and you hold yourself accountable for achieving it.
- You think ahead. You'd rather prevent a staffing problem than react to one.
- You move with urgency. You enjoy a fast-paced environment where priorities change and there are always new challenges.
- You're persuasive. You know how to engage people, build credibility, and turn good ideas into action.
- You think strategically and execute. You can develop the plan, build the partnerships, and follow through.
- You value autonomy. You appreciate clear goals, accountability, and room to determine the best path forward.
You don't need every answer handed to you. You enjoy figuring things out.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of employment at Team JCK.
You're not stepping into a position where every system is already perfected, every process is documented, and every answer is predetermined.
Some things are working well. Others need to be redesigned. And there are opportunities we haven't pursued yet.
That's where you come in.
You'll have the opportunity to bring new ideas, establish stronger systems, influence leaders, and see the results of your work across the organization.
You'll report to the Director of People Operations and work closely with leaders who want to build a more consistent, accountable, and high-performing business.
You'll have clear expectations, meaningful goals, and the opportunity to help determine
