The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through organizational capacity building. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to educational opportunities, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of volunteerism and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our AmeriCorps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth.
Member Duties : Serve your community through a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA! In this hybrid position, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg Recruitment Coordination VISTA will build capacity by strengthening volunteer recruitment systems. The Member will do so by promoting service and volunteerism, attending in-person events to recruit volunteers, and identifying marketing opportunities to reach potential volunteers. The right fit for this position will be outgoing and have excellent communication skills, writing, and phone/email communications. Applicants should have some experience using programs like Canva, Microsoft, and social media. Applicants should be self-motivated and have a passion for helping find volunteer mentors for youth in the community. Applicants must have a valid Virginia Driver’s license and vehicle insurance, or other means of reliable transportation. Applicants should have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
