Description
The division of Enrollment Management is a vital contributor to Samford University’s enrollment success through the recruitment of prospective graduate students and commitment to providing personalized assistance throughout the graduate school search process. The Recruitment Marketing and Communications Coordinator aids in this process by relaying Samford University’s values and mission via print, digital and social media platforms while serving as the primary communications liaison for partnering schools outlined below.
Job Duties
- Create recruitment emails (campaign and event-related) in Admission CRM (Technolutions Slate) for general graduate search, apply, and visit campaigns.
- Manage and track graduate recruitment email campaigns via shared communications calendar for the following schools.

- Create recruitment emails (campaign and event-related) in Admission CRM (Technolutions Slate) for:
- General Grad Updates
- Pharmacy
- Health Professions
- Business
- Law (JD)
- Create and update graduate recruitment marketing materials via Adobe Creative Cloud. Work with Creative Services or a third-party design vendor on creation of premier pieces.
- Work with Central Marketing and Creative Services to develop and design print and digital marketing materials for graduate programs in Pharmacy, Health Professions, Business, and Law.
- Compose and edit copy for general graduate recruitment communications in digital and print form.
- Queries internal databases using SQL to pull and organize contact lists for use across email, print and outreach initiatives.
- Coordinate and lead content update meetings annually across responsible schools to ensure copy, stories, photography, and deadlines are correct.
- Manage Office of Admission social media accounts on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Oversee updates and collaborate with Samford Web Services team to maintain graduate webpages.
- Work with third-party vendors to design and produce swag for prospective graduate students
- Coordinate photoshoots with third-party photographers and videographers, Samford students and alumni for recruitment pieces and videos.
- Manage Office of Admission internal marketing needs via Recruitment Communications Request Form.
- Advise school recruitment/admission staff on how to incorporate recruitment marketing materials into effective recruitment efforts.
- Work directly with Samford Print Shop for recruitment printing needs.
- Create and update Samford profiles for graduate programs lead generation platforms
- Assist Visits and Events team with various needs including helping with Orientation, Preview Days (weekends), walkovers, admit packing and other items.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Priority given to applicants with previous admissions, marketing or graphic design experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in marketing, communications, PR, design, or related field.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience with managing corporate social media accounts.
- Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong planning and organizational skills. Must be able to balance multiple projects at one time.
- Understands the value of a liberal arts education within the context of a Christian University and can relay importance via copy and design in print and digital forms.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with prospective students and parents, all levels of university employees and the general public.
- Must be able to work independently and/or in a team.
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience CRM tools (Slate is a plus).
- Knowledge of the undergraduate admission process and timeline.
- Proficient in AP style.
- Knowledge of converting digital files to HTML format.
