About Uncovr

Uncovr is building AI-powered infrastructure for the future of surgery.

We work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, surgical video, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology. Our mission is to help surgical teams better understand, document, and improve surgical procedures by turning complex clinical data into structured, useful, and trustworthy reports.

Backed by Index Ventures, we're a fast-growing team of engineers, AI researchers, and healthcare experts operating across New York and Paris.

As we scale our technology and expand across leading healthcare systems, building an exceptional team is one of our most important priorities. We're looking for our first dedicated technical recruiting hire to help us make that happen.

About the Role

We are looking for a Founding Technical Talent Acquisition to lead technical hiring across the United States and France and build Uncovr's recruiting function from the ground up.

This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for someone with an exceptional ability to identify, engage, and close technical talent. You'll recruit across AI/ML, Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Product, working directly with our CEO, CTO, and Chief of Staff.

Beyond executing searches, you'll establish the processes, tools, and standards that will shape how Uncovr hires as we grow.

We're looking for someone who combines outstanding sourcing instincts, technical curiosity, strong judgment, and relentless execution. Someone who knows how to reach people others can't, build genuine relationships, and convince exceptional candidates to join an ambitious early-stage company.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end technical recruitment across the US and France, from role definition and sourcing to candidate assessment, offer negotiation, and closing.
Proactively identify and engage exceptional technical talent, including highly sought-after engineers and researchers who are not actively looking for new opportunities.
Develop creative, targeted sourcing strategies across technical communities, professional networks, referrals, events, and unconventional channels.
Partner closely with our CEO, CTO, and engineering team to define hiring priorities, calibrate candidate profiles, and maintain a consistently high hiring bar.
Build and manage strong talent pipelines, balancing multiple high-priority searches while maintaining speed, rigor, and an outstanding candidate experience.
Design and continuously improve our recruiting processes, including interview frameworks, evaluation scorecards, candidate communication, and hiring workflows.
Own our recruiting infrastructure, including Ashby, sourcing tools, reporting, and automation, to build an efficient and scalable hiring operation.
Track recruiting performance through meaningful metrics, including pipeline quality, conversion rates, time-to-hire, and sourcing effectiveness.
Advise leadership on talent market dynamics, compensation benchmarks, competitive positioning, and hiring strategy.
Strengthen Uncovr's presence within engineering, AI, and startup communities, building long-term relationships and positioning the company as a destination for outstanding technical talent.

What We're Looking For

3–7+ years of experience in technical recruiting, talent acquisition, or executive search, ideally within high-growth technology companies or top-tier recruiting environments.
Proven track record of independently sourcing, engaging, and closing exceptional technical candidates, particularly across Software Engineering, AI/ML, Infrastructure, or Data.
Strong understanding of technical roles, engineering organizations, and the skills that differentiate outstanding engineers and researchers.
Deep familiarity with the US technical talent market, including sourcing strategies, compensation expectations, and competitive hiring dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to build high-quality candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing rather than relying primarily on inbound applications.
Experience managing complex, competitive hiring processes and successfully closing candidates with multiple opportunities.
Strong organizational and operational skills, with the ability to manage multiple searches, track performance, and improve recruiting workflows.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage senior technical candidates and challenge hiring managers constructively.
Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and take full ownership of recruiting outcomes in a fast-moving startup environment.
Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in AI, engineering, and emerging technologies.

Nice to Have

Experience building or scaling a recruiting function as an early talent acquisition hire.
Previous recruiting experience at a leading AI company, engineering-driven startup, or high-growth technology organization.
Experience recruiting across both the US and European markets, particularly France.
Familiarity with AI research profiles, machine learning engineering, cloud infrastructure, and specialized technical talent pools.
Hands-on experience with Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, advanced sourcing techniques, and recruiting automation tools.
Established relationships within engineering, AI research, open-source, or startup communities.
Experience contributing to employer branding, technical recruiting events, or community-driven talent acquisition.
Professional proficiency in French.

Who You Are

You are an exceptional technical recruiter who sees talent acquisition as a competitive advantage, not an administrative function.

You are a natural sourcer. You know how to find people who are difficult to reach, understand what motivates them, and turn a cold introduction into a meaningful conversation. You're persistent, creative, and resourceful, and you take pride in identifying talent others overlook.

You are commercially minded and a strong closer. You can articulate a compelling vision, build trust with demanding candidates, navigate competing offers, and help exceptional people make important career decisions.

You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You enjoy building processes and improving systems, but you're equally comfortable spending hours sourcing, refining outreach, or solving a difficult search yourself.

You have high standards, strong judgment, and a genuine sense of ownership. You move quickly without compromising quality, challenge assumptions when necessary, and care deeply about the people you bring into a team.

Above all, you're motivated by the opportunity to help build an extraordinary company, one exceptional hire at a time.

Why Join Uncovr

At Uncovr, you'll play a direct role in building the team behind a new generation of surgical AI technology.

As our first dedicated technical recruiting hire, you'll have the opportunity to shape our hiring strategy, establish the foundations of our talent acquisition function, and work closely with the founders on decisions that directly influence the company's trajectory.

You'll recruit for technically ambitious roles across AI, engineering, and healthcare, with the autonomy to experiment, build new approaches, and make a measurable impact.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do more than recruit for a growing company. It's an opportunity to help build the company itself.
