Help Build the Next 50 Years of Horizon Roofing

Horizon Roofing has been in business for 50 years, has grown to approximately 200 team members, and we’re not done growing.

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition & Workforce Recruiter who can help us find, attract, and hire great people across our company. This is an opportunity to join an established, successful organization while helping build the recruiting strategy and workforce that will support our next stage of growth.

This is not a position for someone who simply wants to post jobs and wait for applications.

We want someone who enjoys finding people, building relationships, creating recruiting pipelines, selling career opportunities, and making things happen.

You'll work closely with Horizon's leadership and department teams to understand where we need talent and then develop creative ways to find it.

Our recruiting needs can range from field and skilled-trade positions to foremen, service professionals, sheet metal team members, salespeople, management, and other key positions throughout the company.

If you like the idea of taking ownership of recruiting and being able to see the direct impact of the people you bring into an organization, this may be a great fit.

Why Horizon Roofing?

There are recruiting jobs where you're one person inside a large corporate HR department.

This is different.

At Horizon, recruiting directly affects our ability to grow.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape how we recruit, where we find people, how we build our talent pipeline, and how Horizon positions itself as an employer.

You'll be joining a company with

50 years of history and stability
Approximately 200 team members
A strong, established presence in the roofing and construction industry
Multiple departments and career paths within the organization
A company that continues to grow and create new opportunities
Leadership that understands great people are critical to continued growth
An opportunity to build and improve recruiting systems rather than simply inherit a process
A role where your results will be highly visible and meaningful

We want someone who can help us become even better at attracting talented people who may spend years building their careers at Horizon.

What You'll Do

Recruit Great People

Own recruiting efforts for positions throughout Horizon, including skilled trades, field operations, service, sales, leadership, office, and other specialized positions.

You'll actively search for candidates instead of relying only on incoming applications.

This may include

Direct candidate outreach
Indeed, LinkedIn, and other recruiting platforms
Employee referrals
Social media recruiting
Trade and technical schools
Career fairs
Community and workforce organizations
Industry relationships
Competitor and passive-candidate recruiting
Building long-term relationships with people who may not be ready to move today

Build a Talent Pipeline

Not every recruiting need should start with a job posting.

We want to build relationships with talented people before we need them.

You'll help develop an ongoing pipeline of roofers, sheet metal professionals, service technicians, foremen, salespeople, leaders, and other talented individuals who could become future Horizon team members.

Partner With Our Leaders

Work directly with department leaders to understand

Who they need
What makes someone successful in their department
Which positions are hardest to fill
Upcoming workforce needs
Where our best employees have historically come from
How we can improve the candidate and hiring experience

You'll become a recruiting partner to our managers—not simply someone who forwards résumés.

Sell the Opportunity

Good candidates often already have jobs.

A major part of this position is being able to tell Horizon's story, understand what motivates a candidate, and help them see why joining Horizon may be the right next step in their career.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations, following up, networking, and building trust.

Improve How We Recruit

We want to continue becoming more disciplined and data-driven about recruiting.

You'll help us track and improve things such as

Number of qualified candidates
Time to fill positions
Source of hire
Cost per hire
Candidate conversion rates
30-, 90-, and 365-day retention
Employee referral results
Recruiting campaign effectiveness
Hiring trends by department

Over time, we want to know which recruiting sources produce the best long-term Horizon employees, not simply the most applications.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

We care more about your ability to recruit great people than having a perfect résumé.

You may be a great fit if you

Have recruiting or talent acquisition experience
Enjoy sourcing and approaching passive candidates
Are comfortable talking with people at every level of an organization
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Are persistent and follow through
Are organized and comfortable managing multiple open positions
Can sell an opportunity without overselling it
Enjoy building new processes and trying new recruiting strategies
Are comfortable being measured on results
Understand that hiring the right person matters more than simply filling a position
Want to take ownership of an important function within a growing company

Experience recruiting for construction, roofing, skilled trades, manufacturing, field service, transportation, or similar industries would be especially valuable.

How We Define Success

Success isn't measured by how many résumés you send to a manager.

It's measured by the quality of the people you help bring into Horizon.

We want to see

Great people hired.
Positions filled faster.
Stronger candidate pipelines.
Better recruiting sources identified.
Employees who stay and succeed.
Managers who trust their recruiting partner.

And ultimately, a stronger Horizon team.

Benefits

Compensation

We anticipate a base salary of approximately $65,000–$80,000, depending on experience and demonstrated recruiting ability.

In addition to base compensation, we plan to offer a performance-based incentive opportunity tied to successful recruiting results, giving a high-performing recruiter the ability to earn significantly more.

Our goal is to create a compensation structure that rewards someone for helping Horizon make quality hires who become successful long-term team members, not simply generating applications.

The Opportunity

Horizon Roofing has already built a successful company over the past 50 years.

Now we're continuing to grow.

To do that, we need more great people—and finding those people is becoming increasingly important to our future.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to build something, have a direct relationship with company leadership, influence how a growing organization recruits, and see the results of your work throughout the company.

If that sounds more exciting than simply managing job postings and processing applicants, we'd like to meet you.

Apply today and help us build the team that will take Horizon Roofing into its next 50 years.

Horizon Roofing is an equal opportunity employer.
