POSITION SUMMARY

This permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) position works as part of a team within the Communitas HR department, supporting the hiring and placement of staff for the organization by screening applicants, leading interviews, evaluating role fit, and deciding on placements, while assisting candidates through the application process. In addition, the recruiter provides guidance to senior leaders to ensure human resources policies, programs and procedures in these areas are compliant with legal/statutory requirements and Communitas policies/objectives.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates, develops, implements, evaluates, administers and provides human resources services in the areas of recruitment, HRIS in accordance with Communitas policies and procedures and external standards (CLBC, Licensing, COA, Mental Health, Fraser Health) and applicable legislation and regulations.
Develops, monitors, and implements processes and procedures for recruitment and HRIS; providing related training, education and support to Communitas leaders and staff as required/directed.
Provides advice and guidance to Communitas leaders and staff on the interpretation of human resources policies and practices in recruitment. Ensures policies are written, saved and reviewed to ensure they are meeting the needs of the organization and staff.
As a part of the Recruitment and HR teams, participates in planning Communitas’ long-term and day-to-day human resources operations and administration in the areas of recruitment, volunteer and practicum placement and HRIS.
Creates and distributes new job postings to online sources, the Communitas website and programs for vacancies submitted through the staff request form. Ensures postings are up-to-date and reposted as needed and as directed by the HR Manager – Recruiting. Communicates with Managers and PD’s regarding posting applicants. Screens, processes and tracks all employment applications, including shortlisting applicants, conducting interviews, obtaining references and making offers of employment. Onboards new hires through digital onboarding
Facilitates collaboration and consensus among internal and external partners in support of Communitas’ goals. Identifies and acts upon opportunities for human resources continuous quality improvements in recruitment and HRIS systems.
Provides expert human resource advice/guidance in recruitment to the CHRO by methods such as engaging and supporting Communitas management/staff/teams.
In consultation with the CHRO, establishes and implements human resources policies in recruiting. Researches best practices and new developments in recruitment.
Designs recruitment packages and all employment advertising, including social media campaigns, collaborating with the Communications Department to ensure continuity of Communitas branding and marketing
Coordinates programs/projects and maintains human resources information and related record systems, including volunteer and practicum applications.
Fosters positive relationships within the organization, applicants, and the community through job fairs, community and cultural organizations, liaises with colleges and universities, churches to recruit staff and develop external recruitment initiatives
In collaboration with program Managers and the needs of persons served; coordinates volunteer and practicum programs including tracking all volunteer/practicum placements.
Provides clerical assistance including submitting Criminal Record Check applications and renewals, updating job descriptions, and liaises with managers and Program Directors as needed.
Prepares reports and other materials as required/directed.
Participates on committees, working groups and projects as required/directed.
Performs other related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

College level education in related field, Minimum of 4 years HR/office/administrative experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, pleasant telephone manner
Excellent computer skills with experience in MS Word, Excel and graphics programs; proficient with internet and intranet use & communication

Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment, able to establish work priorities, effectively multi-task and balance varying demands
Strong organization skills with attention to detail

Possession of class 5 BC driver’s license

Wage: $28.16-$31.16 per hour

Hours are worked Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
