Budget Car & Truck Rental is seeking a Business Management & Recruiting Intern at our Kansas City Airport location. This internship is designed for someone interested in developing a career in business management, leadership, recruiting, and operations.

The intern will gain hands-on experience managing day-to-day business activities while taking an active role in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and developing employees. This is an opportunity to build management experience and prepare for a future front-line leadership role.

Responsibilities

Recruiting & Hiring

Assist with recruiting and sourcing candidates for open positions.
Review applications and resumes and help identify qualified candidates.
Conduct and participate in candidate interviews.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and new employee orientation.
Help maintain staffing levels and recruiting activity for the airport operation.
Build relationships with potential candidates and local recruiting sources.

Business Management & Operations

Learn and assist with the daily management of the Kansas City Airport rental operation.
Support customer service and rental counter operations.
Assist with monitoring vehicle availability, inventory, and operational needs.
Help ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and service standards.
Assist with scheduling and staffing needs.
Help identify and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
Work with management and employees to maintain an efficient, professional operation.

Leadership & Employee Development

Work alongside management to develop leadership and supervisory skills.
Assist with training and team development.
Help promote a positive, productive team environment.
Learn how management decisions affect customer service, employees, sales, and overall business performance.
Take on increasing responsibility as knowledge and leadership skills develop.

Requirements

Interest in pursuing a career in business management, leadership, recruiting, or operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organized, dependable, and comfortable working with people.
Ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
Weekday and weekend availability required.
Must be able to work at the Kansas City Airport.
Must be able to successfully complete applicable background and employment screening requirements.

Requirements

Must be working towards a bachelor's or associates degree

Professional communication skills

Problem resolution experience

Minimum age of 18

Valid driver's license

Clean driving record

Salary Description

$17.00/HR
