HR Generalist – Talent Acquisition

We are seeking a driven HR Generalist with strong Talent Acquisition experience to join a growing North American manufacturing organization.

This is a hands-on HR role for someone who enjoys owning recruitment while also contributing across broader HR functions. Approximately 60% of the position will focus on Talent Acquisition, with the balance supporting employee relations, workforce planning, compensation initiatives, organizational changes and continuous improvement.

The environment is fast-moving, collaborative and execution-focused. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, building credibility with hiring managers and employees, and taking ownership of priorities from identification through completion.

The Opportunity

You will manage full-cycle recruitment across a diverse range of positions including manufacturing, skilled trades, engineering, technical, professional and corporate roles.

Beyond recruiting, you will work closely with HR leadership on broader people initiatives and gain exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources. This creates a strong opportunity for an experienced recruiter or developing HR Generalist who wants to build toward a more senior HR role.

What You'll Do

Manage full-cycle recruitment across manufacturing, skilled trades, engineering, technical and corporate positions.

Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.

Source, screen, interview and assess candidates.

Coordinate candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process.

Develop talent pipelines for current and future hiring requirements.

Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies and hold partners accountable for performance.

Negotiate agency terms, vendor arrangements and recruitment service agreements.

Support recruitment activity related to Canadian and U.S. growth initiatives.

Assist with job design, job descriptions and organizational structure initiatives.

Support compensation benchmarking and market-analysis activities.

Assist with employee relations, workplace investigations and performance-management matters.

Support workforce transitions and organizational changes.

Identify opportunities to improve HR and recruitment processes.

Participate in broader HR projects and initiatives as business requirements evolve.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can combine strong recruitment execution with sound HR judgment and business awareness.

Successful candidates should bring

Approximately 3–5 years of progressive HR and/or Talent Acquisition experience.

Strong full-cycle recruitment experience.

Experience managing multiple vacancies and competing priorities simultaneously.

Strong sourcing, interviewing and candidate-assessment skills.

Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

A high level of ownership and accountability.

Strong judgment and practical problem-solving skills.

Ability to operate independently with minimal direction.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.

A proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

Ability to balance tactical execution with broader strategic priorities.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be particularly valuable:

Manufacturing, industrial or distribution environments

High-volume recruiting

Skilled trades recruitment

Engineering or technical recruitment

Employee relations

Compensation benchmarking

Workforce planning

Organizational design

Performance management

Managing recruitment agencies or other third-party vendors

What Success Looks Like

This role will suit someone who

Takes ownership rather than waiting for direction.

Works with urgency while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Can prioritize effectively when multiple issues require attention.

Builds credibility quickly with hiring managers and employees.

Is comfortable challenging, influencing and negotiating when necessary.

Understands the operational realities of a manufacturing business.

Can move comfortably between recruiting execution and broader HR responsibilities.
