Active Plus is a New York City-based nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the health
and education gaps by providing free programs that promote wellness, leadership,
workforce development, and healthy lifestyles for underserved youth and communities.
Position Summary
Active Plus is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and results-driven Youth Recruitment
Specialist to support our Restorative Justice and Mindfulness initative. We are looking
for someone who enjoys being in the community, building relationships, and opening
doors.
The ideal candidate is a natural recruiter who is comfortable approaching community
organizations, after-school programs, recreation centers, faith-based organizations, and
youth-serving agencies throughout the Bronx and Brooklyn. Your primary goal will be to
identify organizations interested in partnering with Active Plus and recruit eligible youth to
participate in our programs.
In addition to an hourly wage, recruiters will earn a $500 performance bonus for every
qualified lead that results in a signed partnership agreement between Active Plus and a
community organization.
Responsibilities

Conduct in-person outreach throughout the Bronx and Brooklyn.
Identify and build relationships with youth-serving organizations, community

centers, nonprofits, after-school programs, recreation centers, and other potential
partners.

Schedule introductory meetings between prospective partners and Active Plus

leadership.

Recruit eligible youth participants for the Heal Our Youth program.
Represent Active Plus professionally at community events, resource fairs, and

networking opportunities.

Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, and leads.
Provide weekly progress updates on recruitment efforts.
Assist with community engagement initiatives as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable with cold outreach and networking.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Familiarity with Bronx and Brooklyn communities is strongly preferred.
Experience in community outreach, sales, recruiting, canvassing, nonprofit work, or

youth development is a plus.

Passion for improving the lives of young people.

Compensation

$20.00 per hour
12 hours per week
$500 bonus for every recruitment lead that results in a signed contract with Active

Plus.
