Description
The Talent Acquisition Partner reports to the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition and is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of both employed (W2) and relief veterinarians across an assigned geographic territory. This role manages the candidate journey from sourcing and initial outreach through interviewing, offer negotiation, and placement, while building strong relationships with candidates and operational leaders.
The Talent Acquisition Partner will develop and maintain active and passive DVM pipelines, manage veterinarian openings across General Practice and UrgentVet locations, and identify the best fit between candidates, practices, and teams. This role also partners closely with hospital and operations leadership to understand staffing needs, develop proactive recruiting strategies, and support long-term market coverage.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven recruiter who is highly organized, proactive, results-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in healthcare or veterinary recruiting is preferred.
This is a competitive salary-based position with quarterly bonus potential based on performance and achievement of recruiting goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for both relief DVM and W2 employed DVM candidates within the assigned geographic region, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, scheduling, and offer negotiation.
- Build and maintain pipelines of active and passive candidates through targeted outreach and email campaigns.
- Source new DVM candidates and regularly update existing candidates as part of the role’s ongoing sourcing expectations.
- Manage expectations and communications between candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruiting process.
- Maintain full ownership of candidate activity, pipeline health, and market coverage for all veterinarian openings within the assigned territory.
- Maintain ATS/CRM records with accurate and organized candidate and lead data.
- Efficiently fill DVM positions with a focus on proper placement and retention.
- Report regularly to senior recruiting and operations leadership on requisition status and any process bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with credentialing, onboarding, and HR to ensure compliance and readiness for relief professionals.
- Partner with recruiting, operations, and hospital leaders to forecast staffing needs and develop proactive relief coverage strategies.
- Plan, attend, and staff on-campus recruiting events such as career fairs, virtual events, lectures, and conferences; deliver presentations to large audiences of veterinary students.
- Champion the Employee Referral Bonus program, encouraging employee participation and referrals.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Prior experience recruiting healthcare professionals preferred; veterinary recruiting experience is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build genuine rapport with candidates at all experience levels.
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to shared success.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to advise candidates on compensation and benefits.
- Proficiency with ATS/CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and internet applications.
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) for campus recruiting events and hospital visits.
