Description
As the Talent Acquisition Lead at Fernway, you’ll help us find the people who will shape where we go next. You’ll own recruiting for our Commercial and management teams, partnering with hiring managers to find great people, build strong candidate relationships, and make the hiring process better along the way. You’ll also have the chance to build out things like our employment brand, internal mobility, career paths, and recruiting metrics.
This role is often a candidate’s first real introduction to Fernway, so you’ll play an important part in how people experience our company and culture. The ideal candidate is someone who naturally represents our tone, knows how to spot great talent, and isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo. This is a hands-on role for someone who is energized by change, enjoys building things, is comfortable with technology and data, and wants the opportunity to leave their mark on a growing company.
This is a remote position, with occasional travel. Preference for candidates in the vicinity of the following areas:

Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end recruiting for Commercial and management roles, from hiring plan through onboarding.
- Look for ways to make recruiting better, faster, and more effective.
- Be a strong first impression of Fernway, bringing our tone and culture to every candidate interaction.
- Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs, build hiring plans, and develop sourcing strategies.
- Help protect and strengthen our culture through thoughtful, consistent candidate screening and selection.
- Guide offer and compensation discussions, using market and candidate insights to anticipate negotiations and advise hiring managers.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines and candidate relationships.
- Own employee referral programs and support employment branding and recruiting communications.
- Develop internal mobility and career pathing programs in partnership with HR and business leaders.
- Create and maintain interview guides, scoring rubrics, and other tools to improve hiring quality and consistency.
- Own TA KPIs and reporting, using data to identify opportunities and improve hiring speed, quality, and effectiveness.
- Stay current on talent market trends and continuously improve recruiting processes and candidate experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5+ years of progressive talent acquisition/recruiting experience, including recruiting management-level talent.
- Strong sourcing and recruiting skills, including direct sourcing, networking, referrals, and passive candidate engagement.
- Strong hiring manager partnership and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise and push back when needed.
- Experience with offer negotiation and compensation discussions.
- Experience building or improving recruiting programs, processes, and talent initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with TA KPIs and reporting.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to balance hands-on recruiting with broader projects.
- Comfortable with ATS, recruiting technology, and using data to inform decisions.
- Cannabis or other regulated-industry recruiting experience is a plus.
