Skilled Trades Recruiter / HR Generalist

September 16, 2026
Florence, KY, US

Are you energized by hard-to-fill positions and the challenge of finding great people?

We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and results-driven Skilled Trades Recruiter / HR Generalist who loves recruiting and takes pride in finding strong candidates for field positions in the roofing industry. This is an opportunity for a professional go-getter who enjoys the hunt, builds relationships, follows leads, and keeps working until the right person is found.

**This is not a “post-and-wait” recruiting role. **We need someone who is proactive, creative, persistent, and comfortable trying new recruiting methods to reach skilled tradespeople who may not be actively applying for jobs.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the recruiting process for roofing field positions, including roofers, skilled mechanics, foremen, superintendents, and other construction-related roles.
  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, referrals, networking, community outreach, trade schools, social media, and other creative recruiting channels.
  • Write and post engaging job advertisements that attract qualified candidates.
  • Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and identify strong candidates for hiring managers.
  • Partner closely with managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and the skills needed for each opening.
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of candidates for current and future hiring needs.
  • Research recruiting markets, new sourcing opportunities, and methods for improving applicant flow.
  • Track recruiting activity, expenses, and market information, and provide recruiting updates as needed.
  • Assist with new-hire orientation, onboarding, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee information in the HRIS and support other Human Resources functions as needed.
  • Assist with employee relations, policies, leave administration, unemployment matters, HR projects, and other responsibilities in support of the HR Director.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A professional who is passionate about recruiting and enjoys connecting people with career opportunities.
  • A go-getter who is persistent, resourceful, and comfortable recruiting for hard-to-fill skilled-trade positions.
  • Someone who takes pride in finding candidates instead of waiting for candidates to find us.
  • A creative recruiter who is willing to try new approaches when traditional methods are not producing results.
  • A strong communicator who can build rapport with field employees, applicants, managers, and executives.
  • An organized professional who can manage multiple openings, priorities, and deadlines while following through consistently.
  • A dependable team member who exercises sound judgment and handles confidential information appropriately.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of excellent skilled-trades recruiting experience, preferably in construction, roofing, manufacturing, or another field-based environment.
  • Experience proactively sourcing candidates for difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Human Resources experience that supports the HR Generalist responsibilities of the role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with an HRIS or applicant tracking system
  • Strong time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • PHR or other Human Resources certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

Why This Role Is Different

You will have the opportunity to make a visible impact on the organization by helping our operations teams find the people they need to grow and succeed.

If you are the recruiter who gets excited when someone says, “We can’t find anyone for this position,” we want to hear from you.
