Senior Talent Acquisition Partner – DVM Recruiting
Seattle, WA | Full-Time | Field & Support Center Based
Great DVM recruiting starts long before there's an open position.
Cara Veterinary is looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner – DVM Recruiting to own our DVM recruiting strategy, build a strong pipeline of veterinary talent, and help ensure our hospitals have the DVM capacity they need to thrive and grow.
We're looking for someone who loves the hunt, knows how to turn a cold lead into a warm relationship, and understands that the DVM we need six months from now may not be looking for a new opportunity today.
Who Is Cara?
Cara Veterinary is a growing veterinary enterprise, homegrown right here in Washington. Across our hospitals, we are committed to maintaining high standards through Quality, Consistency, and Compassion in everything we do.
Each of our locations is a pillar within its neighborhood. Through the care we provide, the relationships we build, and the programs we support, we are committed to continuing to be an active part of the communities we serve.
Our people are what make up our culture, and our culture is what differentiates Cara. We believe great veterinary care starts with great people, which is why finding and connecting with the right talent is so important to our future.
What You'll Own
Your primary focus will be DVM recruiting and building a sustainable DVM talent pipeline across Cara.
- Own full-cycle DVM recruiting from proactive sourcing through accepted offer.
- Build and nurture relationships with active and passive DVM candidates.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects that can be activated as hiring needs arise.
- Partner with Medical Leadership, Operations, Hospital Leaders, and the People Team to anticipate current and future DVM capacity needs.
- Develop relationships with veterinary schools, students, externs, and other future talent sources.
- Represent Cara at conferences, career fairs, universities, networking events, and within the veterinary community.
- Bring market intelligence back to Cara, including compensation trends, candidate expectations, competitive activity, and recruiting challenges.
- Use recruiting data to understand pipeline health, candidate conversion, time to fill, and DVM capacity added.
DVM recruiting comes first. Based on enterprise needs and available capacity, you may also support other priority searches across Cara.
How You'll Succeed
We're looking for results, not just recruiting activity. We'll know you're succeeding when:
- Cara has the DVM capacity needed to support our hospitals and future growth.
- Candidate relationships are being built before vacancies become urgent.
- DVM positions are filled more quickly and predictably.
- We have a healthy pipeline of qualified, engaged DVM prospects.
- Strong candidates move efficiently from initial conversation through accepted offer.
- Our veterinary school, student, and extern relationships are creating a meaningful future talent pipeline.
- Our leaders have clear visibility into recruiting progress, opportunities, and risks.
We care about the DVM capacity you help create, not simply the number of people hired.
What We're Looking For
- Significant full-cycle recruiting, talent acquisition, executive search, or professional recruiting experience.
- Demonstrated success proactively sourcing and closing hard-to-find talent in a competitive market.
- Strong passive candidate sourcing and relationship-building skills.
- Experience building and maintaining long-term talent pipelines.
- Strong closing, negotiation, and candidate management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple searches and competing priorities.
- Comfort using recruiting data to measure results and guide strategy.
- Strong communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Veterinary recruiting experience is strongly preferred. Healthcare, physician, dental, executive, or other specialized professional recruiting experience may also translate well.
- An established veterinary talent network is a big plus.

A Little More About the Role
This is a full-time, salaried exempt position reporting to the Vice President of People and based out of the Cara Support Center in Seattle's Lower Queen Anne neighborhood.
This isn't a stay-behind-the-desk recruiting role. Depending on the day, you may be working from the Support Center, visiting one of our hospitals, meeting with candidates, attending a veterinary school or recruiting event, traveling for a conference, or working remotely when appropriate.
Regular local travel throughout the Greater Seattle area is expected, along with periodic travel for conferences, veterinary school visits, career fairs, and other recruiting activities.
Ready to Meet Cara?
If you enjoy the hunt, know how to build relationships that turn into hires, and want the opportunity to own and shape a DVM recruiting strategy, we'd love to meet you.
