Dawson Group Dawson Group is looking for a Recruitment Coordinator who will help connect great people with the right opportunities across our businesses, supporting the recruitment process from candidate sourcing through to hire.

In this role you will be a valued member of the Dawson Group, working as a Temporary, full-time, Recruitment Coordinator, reporting to: VP, People & Culture. As the Recruitment Coordinator, a day on the job will include coordinating job postings, candidate screening and interviews, prepare offers, and making sure every new hire has a smooth, safe start with our team. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C.; however, the Dawson Group embraces distributed work, meaning the successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from home and/or at our office.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Coordinate the Dawson Group recruitment process through an Applicant Tracking System for union and non-union positions across all business units
  • Prepare and post job advertisements on our careers page, job boards and social media
  • Screen applications, conduct initial phone screens and shortlist Candidates against job-related criteria
  • Schedule interviews, coordinate interview panels, and prepare structured interview guides and scoring tools for Hiring Managers
  • Keep Candidates informed with timely, professional communication from application to offer
  • Coordinate reference checks and other pre-employment requirements, and prepare offer letters
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including paperwork, HRIS entry, the hand-off to Payroll, and new worker safety orientation
  • Represent the Dawson Group at career fairs and with trades schools, post-secondary institutions and community partners
  • Maintain recruitment data and report on metrics such as open requisitions and time-to-fill

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in recruitment coordination, Human Resources administration or a related field
  • Diploma or certificate in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of BC employment legislation as it applies to hiring, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code and Pay Transparency Act
  • Familiarity with HR databases and applicant tracking systems
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple job postings at once
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Experience in a construction, transportation or unionized environment, or progress toward the CPHR designation, is an asset
