Noblesville, IN, US

Meyer Foods Management Company is looking for a part-time Recruiting Assistant to support our Talent Acquisition team! This position reports to the HR Manager and works closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, who will provide day-to-day direction related to recruiting processes, priorities, and workflow.

This is a hybrid position with the majority of work completed remotely and periodic in-office attendance required for team meetings, training, collaboration, or other business needs. In-office attendance will typically be once per week or every other week but may vary based on business needs.

The position will typically work 20–30 hours per week. Flexibility is an important part of this role, as additional hours may occasionally be needed to support increased recruiting activity, PTO coverage, or other business needs.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, an excellent verbal and written communicator, and comfortable adjusting priorities and their schedule as needs change. This role requires someone who uses sound and ethical judgment, maintains confidentiality, communicates when priorities or expectations are unclear, and consistently follows through on responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting activities from application through hire, including reviewing applications, candidate outreach, interview scheduling, follow-up, and pre-employment activities.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to execute day-to-day recruiting processes, priorities, and workflow while maintaining communication with the HR Manager regarding overall responsibilities and expectations.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly with candidates, hiring managers, and members of the HR team through phone, email, text, and in-person communication.
  • Post and maintain job openings across recruiting platforms and ensure candidate and job information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate interviews and hiring activities, ensuring candidates and hiring managers have accurate and timely information.
  • Maintain organized and accurate candidate records, recruiting documentation, and activity within the applicant tracking system.
  • Support recruiting events, job fairs, school partnerships, community outreach, and other recruiting initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with recruiting reports, candidate pipelines, and tracking key recruiting activity and metrics.
  • Follow up on outstanding items and help ensure candidates and open positions continue moving through the hiring process.
  • Manage time effectively and remain flexible as recruiting priorities, workload, and scheduling needs change.
  • Identify issues, think through potential solutions, and use sound and ethical judgment when handling candidate or recruiting-related situations.
  • Provide additional recruiting and administrative support based on the needs of the Talent Acquisition and HR teams.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of people.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to independently prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Willingness and ability to adjust working hours and schedule when necessary to support recruiting demands, PTO coverage, and changing business needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use sound, ethical judgment and recognize when additional guidance is needed.
  • Ability to take direction, manage changing priorities, and communicate proactively when priorities or expectations need clarification.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Dependable, accountable, and comfortable taking initiative.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining responsive, accessible, and collaborative with the team.
  • Comfortable making phone calls, communicating with candidates, and building professional relationships.
  • Comfortable learning and using Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, job boards, scheduling platforms, and other recruiting technology.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume recruiting environment, managing frequent candidate communication and multiple open positions across different locations while maintaining accuracy and positive candidate experience.
  • Experience in a quick service restaurant environment is preferred.

Experience & Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in recruiting, human resources, customer service, administrative support, hospitality, or another people-focused role is preferred but not required. Recruiting experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Success in This Role

Success in this position means being someone the Talent Acquisition and HR teams can rely on to communicate effectively, pay close attention to details, stay organized, follow through on commitments, adapt when priorities change, and approach problems with professionalism and good judgment. The Recruiting Assistant should help keep the recruiting process moving while creating a positive and professional experience for candidates and hiring teams.
