Job Summary

The Recruiting & Training Coordinator supports SPC Mechanical's full talent lifecycle by combining campus recruiting, employer brand and social media management, and the logistical coordination of company-wide training. This role builds SPC's candidate pipeline, creates recruiting and marketing content, coordinates the logistics of new hire onboarding and ongoing training, and maintains the company's annual training calendar. Strong organization, creativity, and communication skills are essential, as this role balances relationship-building and content creation with detail-driven scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Campus Recruiting & Outreach: Represent SPC Mechanical at community college and university career fairs, info sessions, and campus events; build and maintain relationships with career services offices, faculty, and trade program coordinators to generate a steady pipeline of student candidates for internships, apprenticeships, and entry-level roles.
  • Student Presentations: Develop and deliver engaging presentations to students, faculty, and program staff that highlight SPC Mechanical's culture, career paths, and opportunities in mechanical trades.
  • Recruiting Administrative Support: Assist the Talent Acquisition team with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate records in BambooHR, posting job openings, and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Event & Training Logistics Coordination: Plan and execute the logistics of career fairs, school visits, recruiting events, and company training sessions, including scheduling, location coordination, materials, and equipment needs for field, shop, and classroom-based training.
  • Travel, Accommodation & Expense Coordination: Arrange and coordinate meals, per diems, hotels, and travel logistics for trainees, instructors, and recruiting events across all SPC regions; track related expenses and submit for review and approval.
  • Social Media Management: Manage and grow SPC Mechanical's presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook; maintain a content calendar and write, schedule, and publish posts that reflect company culture, projects, and career opportunities.
  • Content Capture, Creation & Compliance: Photograph and record video at company events, career fairs, and active jobsites; edit content into polished materials for social platforms and recruiting collateral; obtain necessary consent and media releases and ensure all content usage complies with company policy.
  • Onboarding & Orientation Logistics: Partner with the HR Generalist to coordinate the logistical elements of new hire orientation and onboarding, including scheduling, materials, and location logistics, while HR Generalist manages new hire paperwork and systems setup.
  • Annual Training Calendar Management: Build, maintain, and update an annual training calendar across all departments, ensuring it is accessible company-wide and reflects current training offerings and schedules.
  • Registration, Attendance & Certification Tracking: Manage registration and attendance for training sessions and classes, and monitor employee certification and compliance timelines, proactively flagging upcoming expirations and coordinating renewal training as needed.
  • Recruiting & Training Reporting: Compile reporting data from training instructors and recruiting or social media activity; report results, progress, and emerging needs to the Talent Development Partner and Director of Talent Acquisition & Growth.
  • Vendor & Materials Coordination: Coordinate with hotels, catering vendors, and training venues, and manage the preparation and transport of training and event materials and equipment.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all social media, marketing, and recruiting content aligns with SPC Mechanical's brand voice, visual identity, and messaging guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Communicate effectively with instructors, department leaders, field operations, safety teams, HR, and Talent Acquisition leadership to align recruiting and training efforts with organizational needs.
  • Professional Development: Stay current on social media platform changes, content trends, and recruiting, marketing, and training coordination best practices; participate in relevant trainings to continually improve effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a combination of recruiting, marketing, training coordination, HR coordination, or event logistics; experience in the construction or trades industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) and content scheduling or analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
  • Photography and videography skills, with experience using smartphone or camera equipment and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Rush, Canva, CapCut).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups of students and faculty, and coordinating with instructors and vendors.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple recruiting, training, and event logistics simultaneously across competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling or calendar tools; familiarity with HR or applicant tracking systems (e.g., BambooHR).
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis to campuses, jobsites, training events, and company facilities across all SPC regions; current driver's license required.
  • Creative and self-motivated, while also detail-oriented enough to manage compliance tracking, expense coordination, and logistics with consistent follow-through.

This role involves a combination of office work, campus visits, and time spent at active construction jobsites, company training sessions, and recruiting events across all SPC regions. While on jobsites, the employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, moving equipment, and other construction-site hazards, and is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.

The employee must be able to travel on a regular basis, stand or walk for extended periods while covering events, jobsites, and training sessions, and occasionally lift or carry event, training, and marketing equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
