Recruiter

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring an Recruiter to join our Human Resources team and support our growing organization!

The Recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates who align with our organization’s mission and values. This role works closely with the HR & Talent Acquisition Supervisor and department managers to fill staffing needs for organization positions. In addition to recruiting, the Recruiter provides key administrative and day one orientation support to ensure the hiring process runs efficiently and that candidates have a seamless experience.

This is a primarily onsite position anticipated to work 5 days a week. Flexible scheduling is available.

Wage: $50,000-70,000 annually depending on experience, certifications, and education.

Who we are looking for:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of HR functions and employment laws at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations relevant to hiring, onboarding, and employment practices.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word; basic Excel and Outlook skills required.
  • Strong typing skills (65+ WPM preferred) while maintaining conversations during interviews.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent administrative, scheduling, and coordination skills.
  • Critical thinking, autonomy, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR & Talent Acquisition Supervisor, HR and department managers to fill organization staff positions.
  • Source, screen, and recruit candidates based on technical skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Manage candidate pipelines through the applicant tracking system, ensuring timely follow-up and communication.
  • Conduct pre-hire screenings, including reference checks, background verifications, and drug screenings.
  • Assist in the creation of recruitment reports such as time-to-hire, turnover rates, and candidate sources.
  • Support onboarding efforts to ensure a positive new hire experience.
  • Attend occasional recruiting events, evenings, or weekends (virtual or in-person).

Administrative & Scheduling Responsibilities

  • Maintain calendars and scheduling for interviews, recruiting events, and candidate follow-ups.
  • Coordinate communication between candidates, hiring managers, and HR team members.
  • Prepare and maintain recruiting documentation, including forms, records, and reports.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR & Talent Acquisition Supervisor and recruiting team.
  • Ensure timely and organized workflows for all hiring and onboarding processes.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education or HR certifications preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a hiring or recruitment role, including resume review and candidate interviews.
  • Experience posting positions, creating job offers, and managing candidate pipelines required.
  • Veterinary or medical experience a plus but not required.
