A rapidly growing manufacturing company with approximately $100M in revenue, is seeking a People Operations & Recruiting Specialist to join its lean corporate team. This is a hands-on opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants meaningful ownership of recruiting, payroll, onboarding, and day-to-day employee support for a growing workforce.
What You'll Do as the People Operations & Recruiting Specialist
- Own recruiting from initial hiring need through offer and onboarding, with a particular focus on hourly manufacturing and production talent
- Build proactive candidate pipelines for positions that are consistently difficult to fill
- Partner directly with managers to understand workforce needs and develop practical recruiting strategies
- Source, screen, interview, and help move qualified candidates efficiently through the hiring process
- Represent the company at job fairs, workforce development programs, community events, and other recruiting initiatives
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Maintain payroll information and help ensure compliance with applicable employment and payroll requirements
- Serve as a resource for employees with payroll questions and work quickly to resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate onboarding and new-hire orientation
- Support benefits enrollment, employee changes, and benefits communication
- Pitch in wherever needed as part of a small, highly collaborative corporate team
Must-Haves as the People Operations & Recruiting Specialist
- 2-3+ years of hands-on HR experience
- Experience owning or substantially supporting full-cycle recruiting
- Direct payroll processing experience
- Comfort recruiting for hourly, production, skilled labor, or similarly high-volume workforces
- Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems
- Strong follow-through, attention to detail, and ability to juggle competing priorities
- A proactive mindset and comfort operating in a company where things move quickly
- Ability to work effectively with everyone from frontline employees to ownership and senior leadership
Nice-to-Haves as the People Operations & Recruiting Specialist
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, precast concrete, building products, or another industrial environment
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience developing new sourcing channels or recruiting partnerships rather than relying solely on inbound applicants
- Exposure to benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, or broader HR operations
- Experience working in a growing, entrepreneurial business with a lean corporate team
