Part-Time Recruiter (Independent Contractor): Healthcare Outreach

October 1, 2026
Remote, US

Actually like picking up the phone, making money, and making a positive difference while you’re at it? Then keep reading.

Polaris Placement recruits physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and healthcare leaders for nearly every kind of healthcare organization along the East Coast. We’re looking for a part-time contract recruiter to make the first call: the one that decides whether a conversation happens at all.

What you’ll do

You’ll make outbound calls to medical professionals along the Eastern Seaboard and nearby markets. You’ll qualify interest and run intake interviews, then pass strong candidates to our managing partner.

The approach is soft-sell and consultative, not a boiler room. You’ll start on our scripts. Once you’ve found your footing, you’re welcome to riff.

Where it leads

This is a first step, not a dead end. The path runs from initial calls to full-cycle recruiting and, for the right person, to partnership.

You’ll likely do well here if you can

  • Tell within the first 5–15 minutes whether a candidate is worth a screening interview
  • Hear “no” often (about 9 times out of 10) and move on graciously until you get the “yes”
  • Commit to at least 18 hours a week, mostly afternoons and early evenings at first
  • Make 6–8 calls per hour on duty and return callbacks when you’re able
  • Speak clear, natural, professional English with a feel for East Coast healthcare professionals

Setup

You’ll work remotely from your home office. A cat who insists on “helping” you type is optional. Our CRM is Mac-based, so having your own Mac helps. If you’re otherwise a standout, we can talk about providing one.

Compensation

A base salary or hourly rate based on experience, plus commission on placements, along with year-end bonuses when the year goes well. This could be a long-term contract engagement.

How to apply

Skip the long cover letter. Send a resume of two pages or fewer, plus short answers to these questions:

  • Do you ever have call reluctance? If so, how do you work past it?
  • What do you like about working independently, and what don’t you like?
  • What matters more in a role like this: selling the job or knowing the candidate?

Capture our attention quickly and make a simple, compelling case for yourself, ideally without help from Claude or ChatGPT.

That’s basically the job, so consider it your first call.
