About the Opportunity

DAN Solutions is seeking an outgoing, motivated, and career-minded Junior Recruiter / Talent Sourcer to join our growing team in Arlington, Virginia.

We're a small business with big goals, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of our long-term success. This is an excellent opportunity for a bright, driven individual who enjoys connecting with people, learns quickly, and is eager to build a rewarding career in recruiting and government contracting.

The ideal candidate is confident, articulate, personable, and isn't afraid to pick up the phone and start a conversation. We're looking for a self-starter who takes initiative, thinks on their feet, and approaches new challenges with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

As a small business, our team members often wear multiple hats. While recruiting and sourcing will be your primary focus, you'll also have opportunities to assist with other business functions, take on special projects, and develop skills beyond traditional recruiting responsibilities.

We're not just looking to fill a position. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with DAN Solutions, contribute to our success, and build a long-term career with our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and source qualified candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting resources.
  • Conduct proactive candidate outreach through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn messages, and other communication channels.
  • Perform initial phone screenings to assess candidates' backgrounds, qualifications, career interests, and potential fit for open positions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with candidates and develop a strong pipeline of talent for current and future opportunities.
  • Learn and develop an understanding of technical positions, government contracting, security clearance requirements, and the industries we support.
  • Partner with senior recruiters and leadership to understand staffing requirements, hiring priorities, and effective recruiting strategies.
  • Assist with coordinating interviews, scheduling candidate conversations, and maintaining communication throughout the recruiting process.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, recruiting activity, and pipeline information within our applicant tracking system.
  • Conduct research on potential candidates, companies, industries, and recruiting trends.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide administrative, operational, and project support as needed to assist with broader company initiatives.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and continuously look for opportunities to improve processes and contribute to team success.

What We're Looking For

While recruiting experience is helpful, we're equally interested in finding someone with the right personality, intelligence, work ethic, and desire to succeed.

Our ideal candidate is

  • Outgoing and personable: Naturally enjoys meeting people, starting conversations, and building professional relationships.
  • Confident on the phone: Comfortable making outbound calls, speaking with new people, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
  • An excellent communicator: Well-spoken, articulate, professional, and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • A quick learner: Able to absorb new information, understand unfamiliar concepts, and apply what they've learned.
  • Intelligent and resourceful: A strong critical thinker who asks thoughtful questions, solves problems, and can figure things out independently.
  • Self-motivated and proactive: Takes initiative, stays productive, and doesn't need constant direction to make progress.
  • Adaptable and flexible: Willing to step outside their primary responsibilities, learn new skills, and contribute wherever the business needs support.
  • Organized and dependable: Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Persistent and resilient: Comfortable handling rejection, following up consistently, and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ambitious and career-minded: Interested in professional growth, increased responsibilities, and building a lasting career with DAN Solutions.
  • A strong team player: Collaborative, supportive, and committed to the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a professional office environment preferred, including administrative support, customer service, sales, recruiting, or another business-related position.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a confident, professional demeanor.
  • Comfortable making outbound phone calls and engaging with individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, online research, and general business applications.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, processes, and industry terminology quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Previous recruiting, sourcing, sales, or talent acquisition experience is a plus, but not required.
  • An interest in technical recruiting, government contracting, and business operations is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work full-time, on-site at our Arlington, Virginia office, Monday through Friday.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and willing to undergo the security clearance process to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret clearance in the future. Final clearance eligibility is determined by the U.S. Government.
