Description
The primary focus of this position is all Recruiting activities for J. Ambrogi Foods and its sister company, Kristy Kuts. This position requires a proactive, detail orientated person with knowledge of human resource administration, including state and federal guidelines and works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Recruiter/Generalist is responsible for all Staffing/Recruitment activities while also being involved with the HR Director in the following functional areas: Benefits/Leave Administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employee law compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for proactive outreach and recruiting for positions at all levels of the organization which includes all hourly and salaried positions at J. Ambrogi Foods (JAF), Kristy Kuts (KK) and Ambrogi Truck Shop (ATS). This includes, but is not limited to:
- Recruiting to include on-line sources (LinkedIn, Zip Recruiter, etc) as well as proactive community outreaches;
- Screening, interviews and offers.
- Coordinate road tests for driver candidates.
- Responsible for completing background checks and scheduling pre-employment drug screening.
- Ensure all pre-employment paperwork is completed;
- Coordinate New Employee Orientation for all new employees.
- Review, approve, process, and maintain timecards for Payroll. This includes managing Paid time-off benefits (Vacation, PTO, etc) and tracking latenesses and attendance violations. Continue to utilize Paylocity to streamline HR and payroll operations.
- Support Director of Human Resources in the day-to-day administration of all other aspects of the HR function for JAF, KK and ATS including, but not limited to:
- All FMLA, Short-term Disability and other Leave programs.
- Run and maintain various reports on weekly and monthly basis for Payroll and Union reporting.
- Assist with the administration of all company sponsored benefits programs and processes. This includes open enrollment, new hire enrollment, and employee life event administration.
- Assist in the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Point of contact for Worker’s Compensation claim reporting and follow-up activities.
- Administer the company’s quarterly random drug test program
- Liaison for Certificate of Insurance; Provide updates to broker on needs and to customers on status.
- Manage and track employee disciplinary action notices
- Update job descriptions as needed to align with business objectives
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 - 5+ years of Human Resource Recruiting experience (production or warehouse environment preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Union experience preferred
- Payroll administration experience preferred
- HRIS experience required, preferably using Paylocity
- Bilingual – Spanish speaking is a plus
