Help Change a Child’s Story
Chambliss Center for Children is looking for a Foster Home Recruiter who is passionate about connecting people with opportunities to make a lasting difference in the lives of children. There is an urgent need for safe, caring foster families, particularly families willing to care for sibling groups and older children. As our Foster Home Recruiter, you will help find those families. If you are a natural relationship-builder who loves connecting with people, getting out into the community, and turning conversations into action, this could be a great opportunity for you. You may be the person who has the conversation that makes someone say, “Maybe we could do this,” and that conversation could change a child's life.
Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time: approximately 20 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule based on community outreach opportunities and program needs, with some evening and weekend availability required
  • Pay: $20/hour

What You'll Do

  • Develop creative outreach and marketing strategies to recruit new foster families.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with churches, faith communities, civic groups, community organizations, and other partners.
  • Attend community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to spread the word about foster care.
  • Host or coordinate information sessions and events for people interested in becoming foster parents.
  • Work with our Communications team to create effective marketing and social media efforts.
  • Follow up with individuals and families who express interest and help connect them to the next steps in the foster parent certification process.
  • Become knowledgeable about Tennessee's foster care system and Chambliss Center's foster care program so you can confidently answer questions and help potential foster parents understand the process.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with marketing, social media, and/or media relations required.
  • Knowledge of the Chattanooga community strongly preferred; church or community involvement is a plus.
  • Nonprofit, social services, volunteer coordination, or community outreach experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse families and communities.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, as frequent regional travel is part of the position.

Chambliss Center for Children is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and values diversity. All hiring is decided on candidates' qualifications, their merits, experience, and the needs of the business.
