Position Overview

As a Driver Recruiting Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in developing and executing driver recruitment strategies that support company growth. You will be responsible for attracting, hiring, and onboarding qualified driver candidates while partnering closely with operations leadership to meet staffing objectives.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, recruiting expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for helping candidates find rewarding opportunities within the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities of a Driver Recruiting Manager

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and execute driver recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media platforms, employee referrals, community outreach, and networking events.
  • Conduct candidate screenings, interviews, and evaluations.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective drivers.
  • Promote career opportunities and the advantages of partnering with zTrip.
  • Analyze recruiting trends and implement innovative hiring initiatives.
  • Represent zTrip at job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach programs.

Candidate Onboarding & Retention

  • Oversee the onboarding process from application through activation.
  • Coordinate background checks, driving record reviews, employment verification, and required documentation.
  • Ensure candidates complete all onboarding requirements efficiently.
  • Schedule and facilitate orientation sessions and onboarding programs.
  • Assist candidates with licensing requirements and onboarding paperwork.
  • Create a seamless and positive candidate experience that supports long-term retention.

Leadership & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with operations leaders to forecast driver hiring needs and staffing goals.
  • Monitor recruitment performance and adjust strategies as business needs evolve.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding workforce planning and recruitment metrics.
  • Lead initiatives to improve hiring efficiency, onboarding completion rates, and driver retention.
  • Develop relationships with community organizations, workforce agencies, and referral sources to expand recruiting efforts.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and candidate databases.
  • Track key performance indicators including applicant flow, hiring metrics, onboarding completion, and retention rates.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting technology effectively.
  • Prepare recruiting reports and workforce updates for leadership teams.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities remain organized, compliant, and properly documented.

Qualifications of a Driver Recruiting Manager

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, human resources, workforce development, sales, or a related field.
  • Previous leadership or recruiting management experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, interviewing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to attract and hire qualified candidates in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing recruiting strategies and managing candidate pipelines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Self-motivated, professional, and results-oriented.
