Child Welfare Specialist IV H23D

Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
  • OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
  • OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Job Responsibilities

  • Recruitment staff actively seek out prospective foster and adoptive families who have the ability to care for children.
  • Serve as lead worker or backup supervisor to a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists.
  • Serve as team leader in case staff meetings, provide on-going case consultation and advise and train lower-level Child Welfare Specialists in case management and interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Carry complex and difficult caseloads or are assigned responsibilities involving case consultation.
  • Conduct community engagement to find foster and adoptive families.
  • Meet with prospective foster and adoptive families to establish communication.
  • Oversee the approval process for prospective foster families. Approve families according to established standards for the type of care provided.
  • Provide analysis and report on the number of new foster families.
