Educational and Experience Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing, Higher Education, Health Sciences, or a related field. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education recruiting activities is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Serves as a recruitment and events coordinator for the College of Health Sciences (COHS). Coordinates student recruitment efforts, plans and executes college-level events, and serves as a recruiting liaison with campus partners. Supports the college’s recruitment, outreach, and enrollment initiatives through event coordination and collaboration with university departments and external partners.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs administrative support duties for the College of Health Sciences (COHS) related to student recruitment, marketing, and event coordination. Coordinates student recruiting efforts and promotes student enrollment growth through targeted outreach, relationship building, marketing campaigns, and data-informed strategies. Represents the college at university events, high schools, community and junior colleges, college fairs, and other off-campus recruiting events through presentations and outreach activities. Plans, coordinates, and executes college events, including student success, graduation, career, and recruitment events. Coordinates and oversees program activities, including all aspects of the COHS Summer Camp, such as purchasing, room and board, transportation, and related projects and documentation. Collaborates with college departments and programs to identify recruiting needs and coordinates activities to support college initiatives. Develops documents, correspondence, and marketing materials to support recruiting and event activities. Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex recruiting and event data. Monitors budgets, accounts, purchasing, expenditures, project timelines, and supply inventory in coordination with COHS Dean’s Office staff. Identifies issues and develops, coordinates, and implements assigned processes in accordance with university policies and procedures. Travels to campus locations in Huntsville, Conroe, and The Woodlands, as well as off-campus recruiting events and venues. Participates in evening and Saturday recruiting and college events throughout the fall and spring semesters. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures, as well as thorough knowledge of office systems. Coordinates with multiple vendors to resolve issues, process returns, and reconcile discrepancies. Requires the ability to handle large volumes of data entry with speed and accuracy. Work involves considerable complexity and requires the ability to work independently toward established objectives, develop work methods, interpret policies, and adapt to changing conditions. Requires ingenuity, initiative, and sound judgment to resolve operational problems and recommend process improvements. Must work collaboratively with coworkers and provide a high level of customer service. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the departments of Financial Aid, Admissions, and Recruitment. May devote 25% to 50% of work time to routine contacts with employees of other work units through virtual communication tools, including Teams and Zoom, email, and telephone, to obtain and provide work-related information. Requires the ability to lift, carry, and load recruiting and event materials for setup and breakdown. Must exercise care and attention to prevent injury to self or others. May require travel of approximately 40-50% of the time.
