Acting Recruitment and Selection Specialist – 12 Month Contract
PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates programs in more than 240 schools providing before and after school care. PLASP also operates 38 full-day early learning and child care centres and 6 EarlyON locations for children from 0 – 6 years.

Reporting to the Recruitment and Selection Supervisor, the Acting Recruitment & Selection Specialist will conduct full cycle recruitment for a range of PLASP program positions as well as other recruitment related duties.
KEY POSITION FUNCTIONS…
The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:
- Implementing the full PLASP recruitment and selection process from job posting development to employment offer and acceptance
- Reviewing and screening applicants, and conducting prescreens
- Recruitment and selection presentations to attract new talent to the organization
- Proactively source potential candidates for hard to fill positions
- Facilitating the onboarding program for new employees
- Participating in career fairs
- Conducting and administering New Employee Orientation sessions
- Daily administration of resume and internal postings email inboxes
- Recruitment and selection data reporting and analysis
- Building strong working relationships with internal employees, hiring managers and external parties
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE…
- A University Degree or post-graduate certificate in Human Resources
- A Minimum of 2 years’ experience in full cycle recruitment
- A CHRP/CHRL Designation an asset
- Strong presentation skills
- Employee onboarding experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, HRIS, and experience with database management systems
- The ability to act as a team member
- Awareness of the need for and respect of confidentiality
- A self-motivated, flexible and cooperative attitude with the ability to accept increased responsibility
