The annual salary for this position ranges from $45,400 to $45,400. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

The Academic Recruiter is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment initiatives to attract and enroll qualified students into the college’s undergraduate and/or graduate programs. This role supports the college’s enrollment objectives by planning, coordinating, and executing recruitment and student engagement activities in collaboration with the College and Enrollment Management business unit.

Essential Functions

Recruitment Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and enroll qualified students across undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community colleges, high schools, professional organizations, and community groups to build sustainable recruitment pipelines and promote the college’s academic programs.
  • Attend recruitment fairs, conferences, open houses and community events to establish relationships.
  • Plan, organize, and execute on- and off-campus events designed to increase awareness and student matriculation.

Outreach

  • Act as a community liaison between local public schools and the college to coordinate group tours, presentations and disseminate admissions requirements to potential students.

Marketing & Communication

  • Market and promote the college’s undergraduate and/or graduate programs off campus to businesses, community colleges, high schools and other organizations in connection with recruitment of students.
  • Create an effective communication and marketing strategy to effectively promote academic programs which encourages prospective students to select the college.
  • This may include mailings, phone and digital campaigns, social media, college/high school visits, information sessions and other special events.

Prospective Student Engagement

  • Assist with the facilitation of application and admission processing for prospective students; provide information on programs, transfer credits, application procedures, and enrollment steps through in-person, virtual, and written communication.

Collaboration & Liaison Functions

  • Work collaboratively with university admissions, advising, and academic departments to ensure consistent messaging, smooth application processing, and seamless transitions from inquiry to enrollment.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Analyze trends and data to set goals and measure progress toward enrollment targets.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and applicant data, monitor recruitment activities, and prepare regular reports on applications, admissions, and enrollment outcomes to inform strategy and decision-making.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, admissions or student affairs or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
  • Prior experience in marketing or higher education recruitment.
  • Experience with graphic design and content management for websites.
  • Proficiency with technology such as CRMs and social media platforms (e.g., SLATE, Emma, Hub Spot, Canvas, Microsoft Office Suite, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication oral presentation, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, diverse stakeholders and constituencies
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm
  • Hybrid work environment (remote & in-office)
