Summary

The Recruitment Specialist will support the growth of our health system by assisting with the logistics of the recruitment process to result in the successful placement of provider candidates. Under the direction of the department manager, this position is responsible for all steps associated with identifying, sourcing, screening and delivering qualified physicians and advance practice providers for consideration to MyMichigan Health. This position will also source and onbard Locum Tenens as needed.

Responsibilities

(50%)* Facilitates the candidate and locum tenens process to include: Reviewing and screening applicants from various sources. Forwarding qualified candidates to leadership, physician recruiters and other potential stakeholders. Assists with coordinating, scheduling and participating in phone and in-person interviews as needed. Processes viable candidates, new hires and transfers within the departmental database to provide updates on recruitment openings.

(20%)* Facilitates the job posting process on various social media sites, with recruitment firms, journals and direct mail advertising. Assists with intake sessions with managers and key stakeholders prior to sourcing candidates to ensure accuracy. Assists with provider credentialing and enrollment process by providing all necessary information to these departments in a timely manner.

(20%)* Assists with creating applicant pipelines by networking with colleges, universities, residency programs, professional organizations, community organizations, and clinical programs. Assembles and distributes all materials for provider recruitment efforts.

(10%)* Works in conjunctions with the physician recruitment team to coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, site visits, interviews and community tours for all viable candidates and their spouse/significant other.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains an active relationship with business unit leadership and Strategic Partners to have knowledge of workforce plans, projected staffing needs and other changes in order to effectively market careers and identify talent pools.

Develops and maintains working knowledge of the health system and regional communities in order to better assist with candidate inquires.

In collaboration with the in-house recruitment team and marketing, provides input, support to market and profile positions with the MyMichigan Health Careers website Assist and various social network options.

Provides input as needed in to the provider recruitment budget. Manages cost effectively, audits and submits expensed for approval and payment.

Demonstrates positive working relations with leadership, other members of the recruitment team, human resources, education, information technology employee health and wellness, academia and the community.

Represent MyMichigan Health at recruitment events.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree required and one year-related experience preferred.

Must have 3-5 years’ experience in customer services, healthcare, sales, marketing or recruitment baackground is preferred with specific knowledge of the medical/provider community.

Ability to multi-task, planning and prioritizing a large volume of detail-oriented work while maintaining quality customer service. Exceeding and meeting deadlines is required.

Must have strong marketing, organizational and presentation skills. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present practice opportunities in a positive manner.

Extensive knowledge of technology, including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet.

Must be able to work independently with various customers, internal and external to achieve results.

Must be decisive and communicate with all stakeholders on progress of goals and achievement of outcomes.

Must be a team player and work effectively with others.

Participates in other duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to recruit and retain providers.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must have a strong technical knowledge background including but not limited to Microsoft® Office Suite and database software.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.

Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.

Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).

Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.

Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.

Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Physical Demand Level: Light. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 11-20 lbs., frequently (34-66% of the workday) 10 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls.
